After nearly two decades of leadership, service and commitment to higher education, Dr. Henry D. Shannon is preparing to conclude an extraordinary chapter at Chaffey College.
Dr. Shannon, who has served as Superintendent/President since 2007, will retire effective December 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy shaped by his dedication to students and the college community.
Throughout his tenure, Dr. Shannon has guided Chaffey College with a focus on student success, educational opportunity and institutional growth. His leadership has touched far more than classrooms and campuses. Over the years, generations of students, faculty, staff and community members have been part of the institution he helped lead and shape.

For nearly 20 years, Dr. Shannon has been a steady presence at Chaffey College, helping guide the institution through changing educational landscapes while maintaining an emphasis on the people at the heart of the college — its students.
His retirement marks the end of an important era for the Chaffey College community.
