ETIWANDA, CA — September 5, 2026 — Sometimes all a player needs is an opportunity.
After seeing practically no opportunities during Etiwanda High School’s first two games of the season, wide receiver Brandon Andrade entered Friday night’s matchup against Alta Loma with something to prove.
He proved it in a big way.
Andrade delivered the best game of his high school career, turning six targets into six catches for approximately 130 yards and two touchdowns as Etiwanda rolled to a 34-7 victory over Alta Loma.
It was the kind of performance that sends a simple message:

From Few Opportunities to a Breakout Night
The performance becomes even more significant when considering how the season began for Andrade.
Through Etiwanda’s first two games, he had received practically no opportunities to demonstrate what he could contribute offensively. After a conversation with his coach, that changed against Alta Loma.
Andrade was targeted six times.
He caught all six.
And when his number was called, he didn’t simply make routine catches—he produced explosive plays and touchdowns.
His two trips to the end zone helped Etiwanda take command of the game and provided a glimpse of what the Eagles’ offense can look like when Andrade is involved.
A 100-percent catch rate, roughly 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns represents more than an impressive stat line. It demonstrates reliability.
Quarterbacks need receivers they can trust. Coaches need playmakers who capitalize on opportunities. Teams need athletes capable of changing a game.
On Friday night, Andrade showed he can be all three.
Opportunity Met Preparation
There is another part of Andrade’s performance that won’t necessarily appear in the box score.
He was ready.
It would have been easy for a young athlete to become discouraged after receiving so few opportunities during the first two games. Instead, Andrade stayed prepared for the moment when his number would finally be called.
When it came, he delivered the biggest performance of his high school career.
That’s what makes this game important beyond one Friday night.
The question now isn’t simply whether Andrade can produce.
He just showed that he can.
The question becomes what happens when Etiwanda continues giving one of its playmakers opportunities to make plays.
Norco Is Next
There won’t be much time to celebrate.
Etiwanda returns to action Thursday against Norco, giving Andrade and the Eagles another opportunity to build on the momentum created against Alta Loma.
Norco will present another challenge, but Andrade enters Thursday’s matchup with something he didn’t have before Friday night—a breakout performance that showed exactly what he can do when given the opportunity.
Six targets. Six catches. Approximately 130 yards. Two touchdowns.
The best game of Brandon Andrade’s high school career.
And perhaps only the beginning.
