Youth Athlete Spotlight: Brandon Andrade Caps Off Historic Junior Season

In a state known for producing some of the nation’s most elite high school athletes, Etiwanda High School’s Brandon Andrade has established himself as one of California’s most remarkable multi-event competitors.

As the 2026 track and field season comes to a close, Andrade leaves behind a résumé that few athletes in state history can match.

The junior standout dominated the Baseline League, capturing league championships in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, and long jump while also placing sixth in the highly competitive 100-meter dash.

At the prestigious CIF Masters Meet, Andrade finished runner-up in both the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, securing his place among the state’s elite athletes and advancing to the California State Championships.

Competing against the very best in California, Andrade delivered impressive performances at the CIF State Meet, placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.

What makes Andrade’s season especially remarkable is his extraordinary versatility.

His success continued into the postseason, where he claimed the CIF Southern Section Division 1 Championship in both hurdle events. Andrade set a Division 1 Championship record in the 110-meter hurdles while also earning a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash against some of California’s fastest sprinters.

By season’s end, he was ranked among California’s top athletes in five separate events:

• #4 in California – 110 Meter Hurdles (13.53)
• #3 in California – 300 Meter Hurdles (36.63)
• #3 in California – Long Jump (24’4”)
• #18 in California – 100 Meter Dash (10.44)
• #35 in California – 200 Meter Dash (21.19)

According to longtime track observers, it is extraordinarily rare for an athlete to rank among California’s Top 35 competitors in even two events. Andrade achieved that distinction in five separate disciplines, showcasing a combination of speed, explosiveness, athleticism, and technical skill seldom seen at the high school level.

His accomplishments have earned statewide recognition, including rankings among California’s elite sprinters and jumpers, as well as media coverage highlighting him as one of the state’s premier hurdle specialists. Earlier this season, Andrade was featured in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin under the headline, “He Can Do It All,” a fitting description of an athlete whose versatility continues to set him apart.

While the track season may be over, Andrade’s athletic journey is far from finished.

Now turning his focus to football season, the Etiwanda standout carries with him the support of teammates, coaches, family members, and fans who have followed his incredible journey throughout the year.

Brandon expressed his gratitude to everyone who has encouraged and supported him throughout the season.

One thing is certain: California has not seen the last of Brandon Andrade.
